Be a participant in National School Governors’ Awareness Day
Upload a short video of your experience of governance
National School Governors’ Awareness Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of school governance. Here is a selection of videos, with governors talking about their role in schools, that were recorded in 2022.

Your Opinions
If you are a school governor, we would love to hear from you. Please submit a short (max 90 seconds) video talking about what governance means to you. A few ideas you might want to focus on are:
- Why you became a school governor?
- What impact does your governing body have?
- What tips would you share with a prospective governor?

Headteachers, send a Thank You to your Governors
Show your school's governors that you're grateful for the time and effort they give to your community by sending a FREE eCard for National School Governors' Awareness Day.
Choose from two styles of eCard. You can say "thank you" or let your governors know that they "make a difference". Just click the image below to get started!
You can type a personalised message to an individual governor, or add multiple email addresses to send the same message to a group of recipients. You can also preview the card before it is sent.
By ticking the box, you can receive a notification when a recipient opens your eCard. Both the sender and the recipient can share with everybody that they've received a message of goodwill with the share function that can post to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can also download a copy of the eCard to keep.
You don't have to be a headteacher to send an eCard. If you are thankful to a school governor for the impact they've had on your school, let them know and send your best wishes.
